HEY BROTHERS AND SISTERS! :) I got a call from my grandma’s friend (Auntie Sowchan). (She’s a Christian from another church who’s trying to reach out to my grandma over the past few years. She happened to know that I am also a Christian and decided to work with me to lead her into salvation.) In the phone call, Auntie Sowchan shared with me what she discovered in my grandma’s life. Auntie Sowchan felt that my grandma was feeling lonely. My father and aunt are married, while my uncle is in shanghai working. I did not accompany her/ have quality time with her too. I realized how much time and attention I have spent on my friends, commitments, at church, etc. I failed to understand that spending appropriate time with my family is also a part of contributing towards God’s Kingdom too. Auntie Sowchan wanted to pray together over the phone also. I admired her prayers. Even though it was in Chinese, her prayer was filled with faith, simple yet specific, and she also applied God’s promises in the Bible. In the middle of agreeing to her prayers, I suddenly recalled my personal prayer items. Especially in my Quiet Time, specific and persistent prayer items mostly didn’t include my grandma, father, etc. And yet, my grandma is the closest to me in my family. I felt that I have neglected them. I just felt prompted to share this, because there’s a need to focus on reaching out to our family too! At the end of everything, the people whom we want to get saved the most are them. - When one in the household is saved, the whole household will be too. :D PS: Help me pray for my grandma's salvation on 27 March 2010! :D --- |
